French Powers of Attorney (procurations)
We can arrange and explain French powers of attorney - known as a procuration - so that you don’t have to travel to France in person to sign French probate documents or French property sale documents in the Notaire’s office.
We also help UK Notaries Public when they need assistance for a client with a French procuration to accept an estate or to sell a property. A UK Notary is deemed to be a public official, most often also a solictor, and so documents which have been notarized by a UK Notary Public can subsequently be legalised
We can provide a full explanation and signing instructions, arrange certified translations with apostille (an apostille is a stamp or a certificate that makes ‘local’ documents valid for international use, and some Notaires require one on each document), and assess whether or not it is safe for the client to sign.
Let us make it easy for you, safe for you, and make sure that you understand the document, and how to validly sign.
